WWE ‘Refused’ To Tell Drew McIntyre He Was Losing

Drew McIntyre and The Miz were not informed about the WWE Title change until the last minute, with creative not informing them of their decision until the afternoon of Elimination Chamber. McIntyre has revealed that WWE refused to tell him if he’d win a match.

The Miz stated on Oral Sessions with Renee Young, “I had no idea. I walked in there and nobody was talking to me. Like, all the creative, like ‘is anyone going to tell me what the hell is going on?’ In the afternoon! So, I’m like ‘oh my god, is anybody going to talk to me?’ Then I go in and figure out what’s going on and I’m like, ‘okay this is it.’ Honestly, you never believe it’s gonna happen until you hear 1-2-3 you don’t believe it’s gonna happen.”

“By the way, this is against Drew McIntyre and if you’ve been watching WWE at all, Drew and Roman are on fire. They are incredibly hard to beat. They have grabbed the brass ring and basically said, ‘we’re untouchable, you’re not going to be able to touch us, you’re not going to be able to get this title off of us.’ It’s always difficult.”

The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to defeat Drew McIntyre at the end of Elimination Chamber on Sunday. WWE pulled McIntyre from Raw, and The Miz is scheduled to defend his title against Bobby Lashley next week.

Ringside News transcribed Miz’s comments.
