WWE Reject Hiring Roman Reigns Cousin

Having connections in the right places can certainly help pave the way to success, and this rings true for Alexander Hammerstone and Jacob Fatu, both of whom are related to Roman Reigns, the current WWE Universal Champion. Reigns hails from a family of professional wrestlers, with many of his kin making a name for themselves in the industry.

Despite being part of the Anoa’i family, which is regarded as pro wrestling royalty, Hammerstone and Fatu have yet to step into the WWE ring. Court Bauer, the founder of Major League Wrestling, revealed on Busted Open Radio that WWE didn’t give the duo much of a chance, despite their lineage.

Hammerstone, who resembles WWE executive Triple H, reportedly had a few tryouts with the company before being told he looked too much like Triple H. Similarly, Fatu had several tryouts at the WWE Performance Center, yet he was not signed by the company. It’s baffling that WWE would pass up the opportunity to bring in someone from the prestigious Anoa’i family, but it appears that they did not see the potential that Hammerstone and Fatu possessed.

Despite not getting their chance in WWE, Hammerstone and Fatu are thriving in MLW. According to Bauer, Fatu has a deep love and appreciation for his family, including Reigns and the rest of The Bloodline stable, but he is enjoying his time in MLW. Bauer advised fans to support the company that gave Fatu the spotlight he deserves, rather than trying to book him in WWE, where he was previously overlooked.

“Hammerstone went for a few tryouts and was told, ‘You look too much like Triple H.’ The same with Fatu — people forget he had like three or four tryouts at WWE PC. They didn’t sign him. Now, everyone’s like, ‘He should go to WWE.’ There’s a reason the dude keeps re-upping with us. This is the system that has figured it out. We found him, and he found himself.

“He has all the love for his family [The Bloodline] and what they’re doing there [in WWE], but he’s enjoying his time in MLW. If you’re finding him on MLW, support the company that gave him that spotlight. Don’t try to fancy book something, when the machine there [in WWE] didn’t get it, didn’t see it. So, support where he is and where he is thriving.”

It remains to be seen whether Fatu will eventually make his way to WWE, but he has already made a name for himself in MLW. Perhaps WWE will take a different look at Fatu if he decides to give the company another shot. For now, fans can enjoy watching Fatu and Hammerstone tear it up in MLW, where they are thriving and making a name for themselves on their own terms.
