WWE ‘Reject’ Show With Top Wrestling Company?

WWE have not been afraid to be apart of strategic partnerships with other wrestling companies. As their partnerships with ECW in the 1990s and WWE NXT’s newly announced partnership with MLW has shown. Apart from being a champion in every mainstream wrestling promotion he’s been in, Jeff Jarrett has been a successful businessman. Most notably Jarrett was the founder of rival-upstart promotion, TNA Wrestling back in the 2000s. This top WWE Champion’s contract details recently leaked.

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Van Vliet’s INSIGHT podcast, Jarrett confirmed that during the early days of TNA Wrestling, Vince McMahon and Jarrett had conversations about a potential partnership between the two companies. However, as Jarrett admitted, this did not go past the initial stages. Credit to SportsKeeda for the below.

“In the early days I had conversations with Vince about TNA. We’re businessmen.” Jarrett would state. Continuing ‘Double J’ would proclaim: “I tabled it, is there something? You know, we were tiny! But hey, is there a way to work together?… So, was there a relationship to be had, were the only conversations. And, candidly, we got going and it’s not like we said no, I came up with an idea that he said no to. Look, Vince has helped Paul Heyman. He’s helped promoters. Vince knows for the industry to be healthy, everybody needs to be healthy. So there just wasn’t anything that really came up that we could crystalize into saying let’s do this.”
