We all saw Vince McMahon returning to Monday Night Raw earlier this week and announcing that he and the other members of the family will be taking back the control in their hands.
However, despite the announcement of freshening things up, a lot of fans noted that the episodes of Raw and SmackDown that followed were more or less the same and it didn’t look like WWE put a lot of effort into increasing the quality of their shows.
Though whether the company is planning any big changes to their programming will be seen later on, for now, it appears that they at least are making efforts for the same. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, WWE actually dropped a number of angles in light of their announcement:
“It appears Alexa Bliss as an authority figure (there was talk of her for the Baron Corbin spot once Corbin lost to Braun Strowman) has been completely dropped. Paige as an authority figure was also dropped. The Shane angle based on his winning the Crown Jewel tournament that was to lead to a heel turn looks like it’s been completely dropped (although it wasn’t supposed to happen until January anyway).”
Now it will be interesting to see if the company has actually decided to just drop these angles completely or if they try to incorporate it into future storylines to provide a logical explanation.
