Tyson Fury’s one-off match against Braun Strowman at WWE Crown Jewel wasn’t the only match the company had planned for him. According to Inside The Ropes, the world-class boxing star was supposed to face Drew McIntyre this year.
WWE had planned for a UK pay-per-view in 2020, and the two men were going to headline if everything went through accordingly. McIntyre and Tyson Fury have thrown jabs at one another on social media throughout the year.
McIntyre has stated a few times that he’d like to face Tyson Fury if the opportunity arose. Unfortunately, Covid-19 put a stop to those plans for the time being.
It looked like the British government was set to bring fans back to sporting events this month. Sadly, a spike in Covid-19 cases seems to have halted those discussions.
