WWE Resign Top Star Before Leaving For AEW?

While Adam Cole’s future in professional wrestling is unclear, WWE can safely say that they have offered one of their top stars for the black and gold brand a new contract. According to Fightful Select, Pete Dunne was offered a new contract extension. It is unclear if Dunne has signed the aforementioned extension or not. However, Dunne was on NXT programming this past week while the aforementioned former leader of the Undisputed Era, Adam Cole was, as expected not on the show. This top name was ‘removed’ from WWE NXT.

“During SummerSlam weekend in Las Vegas, Fightful was informed that WWE had indeed offered Pete Dunne a contract extension recently. The length of the offered extension has not been confirmed and varied based on who we spoke to, but the offer was confirmed by an anonymous WWE rep.”

WWE NXT is gearing up to make Dunne one of their top stars with the departure of Adam Cole and with the call-up of now-former WWE NXT champion Karrion Kross to the main roster. Dunne has been a stand-out for both WWE NXT and WWE NXT: UK where he is a former WWE United Kingdom Champion as well as a former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion.
