WWE Saturday Morning Slam Report – September 29, 2012

This week’s episode of Saturday Morning Slam begins with the match of the week. Instead of being the announcer, Santino Marella is wrestling.

 


 

That means that The Miz joins Josh Mathews at the announce table.
Santino’s opponent this week is Heath Slater.

Santino teases the cobra at the start of the match and Slater backs up. Santino with a series of kicks that miss the target but still get to Slater. Santino tries for the cobra, but Slater gets away. Slater pushes Santino a few times and Santino shows the cobra and Slater falls to the corner.

They lock up and Santino with a hammer lock and side head lock. Santino tries for a shoulder tackle but Slater stays on his feet. Slater with an air guitar solo while Santino returns with an air trombone solo. Santino with a shoulder tackle and Slater stays on his feet. We get a series of musical attempts and Santino with the air guitar, Slater with an air trombone. Santino pulls out the air flute while Slater responds with an air drum solo. Santino goes to the piano while Slater goes for the harmonica.

Santino gets a violin while Slater decides to go with knee cymbals. Santino goes for the bass and that frustrates Slater. Slater charges at Santino and Santino with an arm drag and Slater goes to the floor. Slater argues with Josh and Miz as we go to commercial.

We are back and Santino tries for a drop kick but Slater holds on to the ropes. Slater with more air guitar followed by a knee drop. Slater with a body scissors and Santino leans back to get a near fall. Slater with an Irish whip that sends Santino sternum first into the turnbuckles and he hits a shoulder to the midsection. Slater with another Irish whip that sends Santino sternum first into the corner. Slater follows with another shoulder and he gets a near fall.

Slater with a waist lock but Santino with an arm drag to escape. Santino charges into the corner but Slater moves and Santino hits the turnbuckles with his sternum. Slater with a body scissors and he gets a few near falls. Santino tickles Slater to get out of the hold.

Slater runs Santino into the turnbuckles and then gives him a hard Irish whip. Slater goes for a new chord and he slaps Santino a few times in the head. Slater with a body scissors. Santino escapes the body scissors and Santino with a split and hip toss followed by the diving head butt. Santino moves around the ring and he goes for the cobra and he misses a few times. Slater fights off the cobra until Santino strikes in the leg and Santino with a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Santino Marella

We go to commercial.

We are back and the theme is Family Health and Fitness Day.

We go to a superstar who personifies health and fitness. That man is Cody Rhodes and he is in the Saturday Morning Spotlight.

Cody has the Fave Five this week and the subject is the Top Five Vanity Superstars.

Number Five is the Narcissist Lex Luger and we see him posing around mirrors.

Number Four is Rick Martel and we see Rick talking about Arrogance.

Number Three is Ravishing Rick Rude. Cody says that many superstars have taken from Rude.

Number Two is Shawn Michaels.

Number One is ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes. He asks who does it better because he even had a digital mirror.

WWE Superstars have experience in other sports and that is the focus of The Third Degree. Superstars talk about what sport they excelled at growing up.

John Cena talks about how he played football. He was good at throwing people around.

Daniel Bryan says that he did not have a favorite high school sport because he was a jack of all trades.

Kofi was a defensive back in football.

Bryan says that he played baseball, football, basketball, and soccer.

Beth Phoenix says that before she became the Glamazon, she played tennis.

Daniel continues with some more sports including wrestling, track and field, and the pole vault.

Kaitlyn says that she played soccer in high school and that she played soccer for thirteen years.

Daniel Bryan continues to give the list of the sports he played and it includes every Olympic sport.

Dolph Ziggler says that he has been wrestling since he was five years old and that helped him to become a WWE Superstar.

Beth Phoenix has this week’s Pop Quiz. Which WWE Superstar won the first Iron Man Match: Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, or Bret Hart.
