WWE Sign Ex-World Champion For Royal Rumble?

The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) star Nick Aldis recently announced on his Instagram subscriber feed that he has given his notice to the promotion about his departure. This led to many fans speculating his next destination.

Nick Aldis could possibly join WWE

PWInsider first reported in July that there were issues between Aldis and Billy Corgan after Aldis was pulled from the NWA 74 pay-per-view. Corgan stated at the time that Aldis had “been critical of the creative direction of the NWA” and another source claimed that there was “magma heat” towards Aldis for constantly speaking out and thus promoting himself over the company.

PWInsider reported that Aldis made it clear that he wasn’t happy with the direction of the company. His deal expires in January so, unless things get worked out, it looks like Aldis will become a free agent in a couple of months. This would be a huge blow to the NWA because Aldis has been positioned as the centerpiece star of the company. Xero News has now noted that his deal expires on January 1 and the WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event is set to take place on January 28, 2023. Thereby, fans are speculating that Aldis could make his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble match, with Xero News reporting he is likely coming.
