Sonya Deville made her surprise return to the company during the first episode of Friday Night Smackdown in 2021. Since then she has been busy with her on-screen role alongside Adam Pearce. She also competed against Naomi in a longstanding feud that went on for months. She teamed up with Charlotte Flair and faced off against Ronda Rousey and Naomi in a tag team match at WWE Elimination Chamber on February 19th, 2022 in Saudi Arabia. she got fired from her on-screen role as well eventually.
According to TMZ, Sonya Deville was arrested in New Jersey on February 19th for having a firearm in her vehicle without the proper permit. Deville, who began carrying a gun after a frightening home invasion incident in 2020, is reportedly working to have the charge dismissed.
Gun laws can be complex, varying from state to state, and it is important to adhere to each state’s regulations. It is hoped that Deville can resolve the issue promptly and return to the road without interruption.
Despite the arrest, WWE sources stated that there was no backlash against Deville, as they understand her desire to protect herself following her previous experience with a stalker and a home invasion.
