Bryan Danielson is a widely recognized figure in the world of professional wrestling, having spent many years in various promotions worldwide, such as NOAH, ROH, and several independent companies. Although he became a massive star in WWE, his tenure was not without difficulties. In 2010, Bryan was fired by WWE after being pressured by sponsors.
During the June 7th episode of Monday Night RAW, The Nexus debuted and attacked everyone in their path, including John Cena, who was in the ring at the time. In his memoir, Bryan revealed that Vince McMahon and Michael Hayes requested a gang-style brawl, which would establish the faction as a legitimate threat.
During the brawl, Bryan choked Justin Roberts with his tie and spat on John Cena, aiming to make the scene look genuine. However, some people found his actions unacceptable under the PG guidelines, prompting Bryan to apologize to Cena and Roberts. Despite this, on June 11th, McMahon called Bryan to inform him of his release due to his conduct, to appease certain sponsors.
After a brief absence, Bryan returned during SummerSlam 2010, and he gave a solid performance, which eventually led to his greatness. Although he was fired, Bryan’s talents were recognized, and he continued to shine as one of the best wrestlers in the industry.
