Ronda Rousey dropped the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair, who made a surprise return on the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown. This led to fans speculating if Rousey is parting ways with WWE.

Ronda Rousey responds to the rumors

Speaking on her YouTube stream, the former champion revealed her next major goal for the company:

“I don’t know guys, I’m tired of Charlotte [Flair]. I’m tired of that title. I already did it you know. I am thinking about taking over the [Women’s] tag division.”

Lock Betting previously reported that a match between Becky Lynch and Rousey “had been planned for a year” but Triple H “wants Ronda for another year and is dangling the carrot of a WM match with Baszler this year and a lighter schedule.”

It had been further noted that if she stays, Becky vs Ronda could be on the cards next year. There have been speculations for several months that Lynch will be squaring off against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 39. However, it seems that the match will now not be taking place. Furthermore, there is no word on who Lynch or Rousey will now be wrestling at the event in California.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that he had been told that a match between Rousey and Lynch is not the plan. Someone who is “very well connected” described the planned bout as “dead.”
