WWE SmackDown On FOX Results (10/11)

The October 11th, 2019 edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

 


 

– Roman Reigns comes out to the ring to kick off the show, and his opponent WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins comes out next. We’ll be kicking off tonight’s show with a singles match. Michael Cole welcomes us to the show and explains that executives from FOX and the USA Network will be taking part in this year’s WWE roster draft.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins: This one is a non-Title match. The opening bell sounds and after fighting for position in the ring, this one quickly spills out to ringside. This turns into an all-out brawl now, and they head back inside the ring to continue trading punches. Rollins fires up with a flurry of strikes, but Reigns shuts him down with a leaping clothesline, then dumps Rollins out to ringside. Back in the ring, Rollins fights back and looks for the curb stomp, but Reigns dodges it. Reigns fires back with a powerbomb for a two count. Reigns looks for the Superman punch, but Rollins dodges it and dumps Reigns out to ringside. Rollins follows up with a suicide dive, and then a second one. Back in the ring, Rollins hits the flying knee off the top on Reigns. Rollins goes to the top rope and hits the frogsplash for a two count. Rollins hits a body kick, then looks for the stomp, but Reigns dodges it again. Reigns and Rollins trade blows in the middle of the ring now. Rollins hits the buckle bomb on Reigns, but Reigns comes right back with a Superman punch. Reigns gets up first and looks for the spear, but Rollins reverses it into a version of the Pedigree for a two count. Rollins looks to follow up with the curb stomp, but before he can, the lights go out. The Fiend breaks through the ring canvas and pops up. The Fiend grabs Seth Rollins and pulls him down under the ring. Smoke starts shooting out of the hole in the ring, then Rollins climbs back out and the lights turn back on. The Fiend sticks his head out from under the ring, then he goes back under, and the lights turn off again. The lights start flashing again and we see The Fiend standing on the stage now.

Winner via DQ: Seth Rollins

– Back from the break, we see footage of FOX and USA Network executives in their offices looking at names for the 2019 draft. The FOX office has the FOX Sports robot mascot helping them.

– Stephanie McMahon comes out to the stage and welcomes us to the 2019 roster draft. Stephanie reveals the first draft of the night – Becky Lynch is officially drafted to RAW. Then Roman Reigns is drafted to SmackDown. She says The OC is drafted to RAW, and Bray Wyatt is drafted to SmackDown. She then reveals that Drew McIntyre is drafted to RAW.

– We go to a Draft panel table in the arena, which is hosted by Renee Young, Booker T, and Samoa Joe. They’ll be reporting on the draft throughout the night.

– Baron Corbin comes out in his King outfit and gets on the mic. He says that he’s still going to be king no matter what brand he goes to, and now it’s time for him to take out “Shorty Gable.” Their in singles action next.

– We see a pre-taped segment from Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Aikman talks about his experiences being drafted in the NFL, and says if he was a wrestler his finishing move would be a piledriver.

Shorty Gable vs. Baron Corbin: Corbin starts off strong and throws Gable out of the ring early on. Corbin follows him out and slams him into the fan barricade. Back in the ring, Gable starts fighting back and working over Corbin’s knee. Corbin and Gable trade shots now, then Corbin drops him with a big boot for a two count. Gable starts fighting back and they spill out to ringside. Gable misses a shot, and Corbin chokeslams him on the announce table. Back in the ring, Gable fights back with a running bulldog. Gable hits some cartwheel kicks in the corner, then Corbin rolls out to ringside. Gable follows and dropkicks Corbin over the barricade. Gable takes him back to ringside, then back in the ring. Gable hits a moonsault off the top for a two count. Corbin fights back with a back suplex for a two count of his own. Gable fights back with a rolling German suplex for another near-fall. Gable with another German suplex, and then he looks for another, but can’t get Corbin up the second time. Corbin looks for a chokeslam, but Gable escapes and rolls up Corbin for a two count. Gable latches on to Corbin now and applies the ankle lock. Corbin escapes, then hits the End of Days for the three count.

Winner: King Corbin

– We go to a clip from the FOX NFL crew. Terry Bradshaw says his first draft pick would always be Dusty Rhodes. Howie Long would pick Buno Sammartino. They also talk about Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, and others, before sending it back to Michael Cole.

– Stephanie McMahon comes back out to the podium on the stage. She announces that Randy Orton is drafted to RAW, Sasha Banks is drafted to SmackDown, Ricochet is drafted to RAW, Braun Strowman is drafted to SmackDown, and Bobby Lashley is drafted to RAW. Cole sends us to footage of the USA Network “Draft war room”, where they celebrate the news of Randy Orton coming to RAW.

– Back at the Draft panel table, Beth Phoenix gives her opinions on the draft, and Joe adds his thoughts too, saying that things are looking good for RAW. Booker T says SmackDown is getting a lot of top notch players too.

– Michael Cole sends us to a video package looking at Tyson Fury coming to WWE.

– We see shots of Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury, who are both in the building tonight.

– WWE Champion Brock Lesnar comes out to the ring with his manager Paul Heyman. Heyman gets on the mic and talks about how Brock is not a normal person, and Brock only fears one thing in life – to relive October 23, 2010, when Cain Velasquez beat him for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Heyman says that Brock embraces his fears, because he conquers his fears. He says Brock will conquer Cain at Crown Jewel on October 31st. Heyman says that’s not a prediction, but then Rey Mysterio’s music hits. Rey comes out with Cain by his side, and they’ve got microphones. Rey tells Heyman not so fast, he must have forgotten some footage, then we go to the big screen for still images of Cain beating Brock at UFC 121. Cain says he’ll beat Brock again, then speaks in Spanish. Rey translates, and says at Crown Jewel, he’s going to give Brock a matching scar on the other side of his face. Rey and Cain head to the back while Brock watches from the ring.

– The New Day is at the Gorilla position with pancakes, and Big E does their intro. They are competing in the six-man tag match next.

– The FOX NFL Kickoff team checks in briefly to share some of their Draft thoughts and memories.

– The New Day comes out to the stage and talks about promoting the power of positivity, and how proud they are to join the fight against breast cancer with the Susan G Komen foundation. They bring out some Samantha and Sarah from the foundation to present them with some honorary WWE Title belts.

The New Day vs. The OC: Gallows starts off strong with a boot to the face of Woods right off the opening bell. They brawl out to ringside where Gallows keeps control of the pace. Back in the ring, Anderson tags in and continues the offense. Woods finally fights back, then Kofi and AJ get the tags. Kofi starts cleaning house, then he drops AJ again with a kick to the head. Kofi goes up top and his a frogsplash for a two count. Woods hits a dive on Anderson and Gallows at ringside now. Back in the ring, Kofi and Styles are still going at it. AJ connects with an elbow to the face, then he goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but misses. Kofi looks for the SOS, but AJ escapes. AJ looks for the Styles Clash, but Kofi escapes. They traed pin attempts now, then Kofi hits the Trouble In Paradise kick for the three count.

Winners: The New Day

– Stephanie McMahon comes back out to the podium on the stage. She announces that Alexa Bliss is drafted to RAW, Lacey Evans is drafted to SmackDown, RAW drafts Kevin Owens, SmackDown drafts The Revival, and Natalya is drafted to RAW.

– Charlotte is shown backstage at the T-Mobile Arena warming up to come out to the ring.

– Back from the commercial, Stephanie McMahon is back out for the fourth and final round of Draft picks tonight. RAW picks The Viking Raiders, SmackDown picks Lucha House Party, RAW picks Nikki Cross, SmackDown picks Heavy Machinery, and RAW picks The Street Profits.

– Over at the draft panel, Joe says he thinks RAW is coming out more solid, but Beth Phoenix thinks SmackDown has the more exciting line up. Booker T says Ricochet stood out to him tonight as one of the biggest acquisitions.

– Back from the break, Jay Glazer from the FOX Sports studio tells us we could see a big trade coming up between the two brands soon. And he points out that some big names are ineligible due to injury, like Samoa Joe.

– Michael Cole introduces a brief video package looking at Tyson Fury and his undefeated boxing career.

Charlotte (c) vs. Bayley: The SmackDown Women’s Title is on the line in this one. During Bayley’s entrance, her music stops, and she cuts apart her wacky waving inflatable tube men on the stage. The opening bell sounds and they start off trading strikes in the middle. Charlotte ends up dumping Bayley out to ringside, then throwing her into the fan barricade. Bayley fights back and slams Charlotte into the ring steps. Back in the ring, Bayley continues the offense and tries to keep Charlotte down. Charlotte fights up and dumps Bayley outside, then hits a dive on her. Back in the ring, Charlotte hits a series of chops to the chest now. Charlotte looks for the Figure Four, but Bayley avoids it and rolls outside. Charlotte follows and climbs up on the barricade, then hits a moonsault on Bayley on the ringside floor. Back in the ring, Bayley fights back and hits a belly to belly suplex for a two count. Charlotte drops Bayley face-first into the turnbuckle, then Charlotte climbs up top. Charlotte looks for a moonsault, but Bayley blocks it with her knees. Charlotte grabs Bayley’s knees and turns it into a Boston Crab. Charlotte appears to be bleeding from her hand. Charlotte looks to transition into the Figure Four, but Bayley reverses and pins for a two count, despite putting her feet on the ropes for illegal leverage. Bayley pummels on Charlotte with right hands now, then stomps on her. Bayley goes up top and hits the flying elbow drop for a two count. Bayley argues with the ref and throws a tantrum. Charlotte comes from behind with the Natural Selection. Charlotte goes for a pin, but Bayley reverses it into a pin of her own. Bayley steals the three count, and we have a new Champion.

Winner & new SmackDown Women’s Champion: Bayley

– Charlotte is shocked, and Bayley celebrates with her Title now. Bayley stands on the announce table and holds up the Title belt, then steps back into the ring and celebrates more. Cole reminds us that night #2 of the WWE Draft takes place this Monday on RAW in Denver. Back in the ring, Bayley gets on the mic and says “screw all of you,” then drops the mic and leaves, and SmackDown goes off the air.
