Steve Austin’s promo accepting Kevin Owens’ WrestleMania challenge aired on Smackdown. WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s feud with The Rock has gone down in history as one of the most iconic feuds in all of professional wrestling. Their feud ended at WrestleMania 19 in 2003, which was Steve Austin’s final match as an in-ring competitor. It was the third match at WrestleMania in their feud. Steve Austin and The Rock Smackdown return also leaked previously.

After that match, the WWE Hall Of Famer was supposed to face off against Brock Lesnar. However, he chose to leave WWE and retire from the squared circle for good. He has yet to compete in the ring since his retirement back then.

However, the company did try to get ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin back inside the squared circle back in 2005. The match was supposed to be a gimmick match and would have seen Austin face off against Jonathan Coachman. Unfortunately, Steve Austin pulled out of the match at the very last moment.

For a long time now WWE had been teasing a match between Kevin Owens and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38 this year, which started with Owens taking multiple shots at Austin’s home state of Texas. In the end, Austin agreed to appear on the KO Show at WrestleMania 38.
As reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Steve Austin is doing cardio training for a fight sequence that will take place at WrestleMania 38.

It is being billed as the Kevin Owens talk show with Austin as a guest on the Saturday show on 4/2. It is planned for more than just a stunner, although the stunner would appear to be the obvious conclusion. There was still talk about an angle leading to a match if Austin were to agree to it, but they felt they needed to announce Austin on the show this week.

What we do know is that Austin has been upping his cardio, so the plan is for a fight scene, and not just a quick stunner.
