Ryker began his career as a professional wrestler in 2001, working in the independent circuit before joining Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, now known as IMPACT Wrestling, in 2010.
He eventually went on to sign with WWE in 2017. He joined forces with Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler and this led to the formation of The Forgotten Sons in NXT. Following a decent run in NXT, they were called up to the main roster and they joined SmackDown in 2020. They had a short run on the blue brand. However, they were taken off the programming after Ryker made a controversial tweet about then-President Donald Trump.
Ryker later joined Raw and aligned with Elias. They were involved in a short-lived feud and Ryker was ultimately released amid budget cuts in November 2021. Lail officially retired from wrestling following his last match at AML Wrestling on August 27.
