WWE Star Missing Royal Rumble After Drug Use

WWE Royal Rumble is set to take place this weekend. However, it seems that Matt Riddle will not be a part of it. He was previously suspended for a violation of the company’s Wellness Policy.

Matt Riddle is likely to miss Royal Rumble

Riddle was suspended for failing a drug test as per the reports. This is allegedly not his first failed drug test of the year. As a result, attention has been called to the severity of celebrity punishment. Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez recently discussed Matt Riddle’s policy violations on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer said that this appears to be Matt Riddle’s second infraction. They went on to discuss the drug test policy and how WWE delivers it. The time range of violations was also called into doubt, with both parties delving more into Riddle’s story. Matt Riddle was written off WWE television after he failed WWE’s Wellness Policy.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Matt Riddle is out of rehab, and he also got a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu belt this week while training under Daniel Gracie. That being said, if his six-week injury return timeline was all for a WWE storyline, then he might actually have more time to wait for his Wellness Policy suspension to expire.

Riddle, who is out of rehab, got his BJJ black belt this past week training under Daniel Gracie. Riddle was announced as returning in six weeks after the injury angle on 12/12. That would indicate a Rumble return, although if he’s suspended two months, he wouldn’t make that timeline

Riddle was last seen teaming up with Kevin Owens to face off against The Usos on the December 5th edition of RAW. Riddle and Owens lost the match. Immediately after that, Solo Sikoa brutalized Matt Riddle and he was stretchered out to the back.
