WWE Star ‘Nearly Died’ After Matt Riddle Match

Keith Lee revealed he got COVID-19 in January in a new YouTube video, returning a few weeks later.

Keith Lee said there was something off in his blood in tests after his February return match against Matt Riddle. Lee was ‘forbidden’ from training. There was a fear that he could die if he got too physical. Lee had MRI’s on his heart.

“This became a fight against death.” He was going to have to undergo genetic testing, out of fear of heart disease. The inflammation in his heart went down to normal. He was eventually cleared to get back to training, and eventually wrestle.

On an episode a couple of months back on the famed podcast and video series on YouTube, ‘The Nitty Gritty Dirt Show,’ we are yet again pulled by our hair into the ever-changing and always crazy world of professional wrestling. As is standard for the show, we are also joined by our two favorite talkers on all things in this realm – Vince Russo and the always knowledgeable Billi Bhatti.

On this episode, Vince Russo and Billi Bhatti discuss the bad luck of Keith Lee.

Bhatti: “We consistently here have said that Keith Lee had Covid around about the time of the Royal Rumble. I said he came back and had a match with Matt Riddle and felt terrible after.”

“The decision was made to tell him ‘You don’t come back until you’re completely ready.”
