WWE Stopping Two Stars From Going To AEW?

NXT 2.0 stars Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly have been slated to part ways with WWE, and possibly go to AEW. There have been many speculations regarding their contract situation. Their deals are set to expire in the near future. There is no clear idea about their upcoming move. However, it was also mentioned that Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly’s contracts are up in a couple of days. At this point, neither man has re-signed, meaning they will become free agents.

Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly might be leaving WWE soon

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the feeling within some at NXT is that both men will be back. These are angles that have been done to take them out so they can come back down the line.

On this week’s NXT 2.0 broadcast, Kyle O’Reilly lost a cage match to Von Wagner and then was brutally attacked after the match. Johnny Gargano gave a speech at the end of the show that implied that he was done with NXT. He also mentioned that his baby would be born in February. He was attacked at the end of the show by Grayson Waller.

WWE put together angles to write off both men during the most recent episode of NXT 2.0. These could then be used to either wrap up their careers if they don’t return or to work as storylines if they do come back. Both NXT veterans took to social media after the recent show to express their feelings on the situation.

“I was told, ok, both of their contracts are up or will be up in a couple of days and neither has signed. The feeling from what I was told from people in NXT is that they believe that they are going to be back. That these are angles to get them away. Both are having children early next year.”

Johnny Gargano tweeted:

“Even after last night. I still can’t put EVERYTHING I’d like to say into words right now. Just know that I appreciate all of you more than I can ever really express. Hope I made ya proud.”

Kyle O’Reilly also got on his Twitter account and stated:

“Truly overwhelmed by all the love and heartfelt messages. By no means does this mean goodbye… just smell ya later.”

We will have to see what future holds for them moving forward.
