McKenzie Mitchell has been released from WWE as she recently revealed. Mitchell took to social media on Friday, December 1 and announced her release. She said she firmly believes that the notion that when one door closes, another door opens.
The reason behind Mitchell’s release from the company is currently unknown. Mitchell signed with WWE in 2019 after spending multiple years with IMPACT Wrestling. Throughout her time with the company, Mitchell was a big asset for the company’s digital brand, appearing on The Bump and WWE Now. Mitchell married WWE’s Vic Joseph in October 2022.
Today I was released by WWE. I met my husband, moved cross country from CT to FL for @wwenxt (a place I’ve always considered home), and met friends that became like family. I’ve always said and firmly believe in “when door closes, another opens.”https://t.co/scUFllumrY pic.twitter.com/s1YCmmTz4Z

Mass roster cuts recently came down upon WWE roster just days after over a hundred employees were laid off by the company following the takeover by Endeavor. This latest round of cuts in the company caused frustration on the roster according to one report for a few reasons. Many of those released weren’t being booked in recent months so had no way to change their situation while there is also the question of timing.
It has been noted that following the completion of the merger with UFC under TKO Group Holdings, WWE released over 20 talents from the roster, including veterans like Dolph Ziggler and Shelton Benjamin. The likes of Mustafa Ali, Riddick Moss, Emma, and Elias were also fired by the organisation.
Cuts were also made to WWE developmental at the same time in September and several names were already known to have been let go but more released talents have since been confirmed.
