Winner: John Cena

Reaction: Well, I don’t know what else to say besides Corbin is buried right now. He was embarrassed on Tuesday’s SmackDown and then lost via one Attitude Adjustment. I have no idea where Corbin goes from here. The match itself was alright, but the ending makes zero sense to me. I was expecting Corbin to attack Cena after the match, but instead he just tucked his tail between his legs and walked backstage. I don’t get it at all.

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Naomi (c) vs Natalya

Natalya slapped Naomi in the face to start off the match. Natalya then attacked Naomi in the corner and then slammed her to the mat. Naomi went for the split-legged Moonsault but Natalya got her knees up. Natalya once again locked in the Sharpshooter for the submission victory.

Winner & New SmackDown Women’s Champion: Natalya

Reaction: This match started out slow but picked up towards the end. The crowd wasn’t really into this match and it is hard to blame them given the lackluster build this match had. Naomi’s SmackDown Championship run is over and it was a total disappointment. Time will tell how Natalya’s run with the title goes and when Carmella will cash in her MITB contract.

Big Cass vs Big Show (Enzo Amore suspended in shark cage above the ring)

Enzo cut a promo before the match. Big Show came down to the ring with a cast on the hand that Cass slammed the cage door on during Monday’s RAW. Big Show finally battled back and leveled Cass with a shoulder tackle. Big Show connected with a Splash in the corner and then planted Cass with a Chokeslam with his left hand for a two count.

Cass rolled out of the ring as Big Show slowly got back up. Cass hopped up on the ring apron and slammed Big Show’s injured hand off the ring post. Enzo took off his shirt in the cage and tossed it out of the cage. Enzo tried to slide between the bars in the cage. Enzo then took off hit shorts and was down to his boxers. Cass then hit Big Show with a boot to the face but Big Show kicked out at two. Cass then connected with another boot to the face and hit the Empire Elbow for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Big Cass

Reaction: Enzo’s escape from the cage was entertaining, the rest of this match absolutely sucked. The entire first hour of SummerSlam has been mediocre at best. It is hard to understand why this match was on the main card of SummerSlam, but the Cruiserweight and SmackDown Tag Team Championship match was placed on the Kickoff Show.

RAW GM Kurt Angle was shown on the phone backstage. He told the person that he was talking to that he would call him back. SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan showed up and said the SmackDown WWE Championship is going to steal the show. Angle disagreed and stated that the Fatal 4-Way is going to be epic. Daniel Bryan said that he knows that SmackDown will put on the better show. Angle once again disagreed and said that RAW will put on the better matches tonight and started chanting “yes!”. Daniel Bryan chanted “no!” as the segment ended.

Randy Orton vs Rusev

Rusev attacked Orton before the match started and slammed Orton into the ring post. Rusev then picked Orton up and launched him into the barricade. The action returned to the ring and the referee rang the bell. Rusev charged at Orton but Randy moved out of the way and Rusev ran into the turnbuckle. Orton then planted Rusev with an RKO for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Randy Orton

Reaction: I couldn’t have cared any less about this match so I am glad it was short. I figured that Rusev would lose this match, I didn’t figure that he would lose in under 15 seconds.

Alexa rolled out of the ring and then yanked the ring skirt while Sasha was on the apron and Banks crashed to the floor outside the ring. Bliss brought Sasha back into the ring, only to immediately throw her to the outside again. Bliss then posed in the ring as the referee started to count Banks out.

Banks made it back into the ring just in time but Alexa went right back on the attack and attacked Sasha’s arm. Bliss casually stepped on Banks on her way to the turnbuckle. Reaction: The crowd wasn’t into this match but Banks and Bliss put on a solid bout. I thought that Sasha Banks should have been in this match all along and I’m not surprised at all that Sasha is walking out of WWE SummerSlam as the RAW Women’s Champion.

Reaction: I thought this match was entertaining. The issue I had with it is that we just saw this match on RAW and Wyatt picked up the clean victory. It was pretty predictable that Balor would pick up the victory here. I hope that this feud is over now and that WWE has something planned for both of these talented Superstars after SummerSlam.

Reaction: I thought this match was decent. I’m guessing this is going to lead to some kind of altercation between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens on SmackDown. This is another feud that I thought would have been better as both Owens and Styles are talented. It has been nearly as interesting as I thought it would have been and hopefully this marks the end of the feud.

Reaction: This match was pure chaos and I loved every second of it. Braun Strowman looked like a monster during this match and we absolutely need to see a match between Lesnar and Strowman in the near future. This match exceeded my expectations and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Overall, WWE SummerSlam was a decent show. The first hour of the show was painfully dull. The RAW Tag Team Championship match and the Universal Championship matches were my favorite of the night.
