WWE Superstars will not be allowed to do Twitch streaming, Cameo requests

Several WWE Superstars have their own Twitch accounts where they stream playing games. The likes of AJ Styles and Adam Cole are included. Superstars are able to make a good amount of money from streaming and it seems they will not be able to anymore.

According to a report by Wresting Inc, Vince McMahon sent out a letter to Superstars where he told them that they are no longer allowed to “engage with outside third parties,” which would include Twitch and Cameo. It was said that the company held a call with talent on Sunday regarding the reinvention of the product. The company owns the real names of the talents and not just their wrestling names.

McMahon’s letter stated that they have 30 days to stop all third party activities and only promote the brand in every way.

“Some of you are engaged with outside third parties using your name and likeness in ways that are detrimental to our company,” McMahon wrote. “It is imperative that these activities be terminated within the next 30 days (by Friday October 2). Continued violations will result in fines, suspension, or termination at WWE’s discretion.”

It seems this was not taken well by WWE Superstars. According to Fightful Select, many main roster WWE Superstars were unaware of this news and that they “only glanced over a letter,” but others were “livid.”

It is reported that “one top name wasn’t upset, saying that Cameo definitely cuts into the virtual meet and greet market.”  Another Superstar said that “WWE is setting themselves up for a rough situation.”
