WWE are planning three new title matches for WrestleMania 37, though plans can obviously change.
Dave Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer, “Other title programs in play right now are Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler vs. Naomi & Lana (and perhaps Natalya & Tamina), Big E vs. Apollo Crews for the IC title, Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler vs. Street Profits for the Smackdown tag titles and Riddle vs. Mustafa Ali for the U.S. title.”
Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Title against Edge in the main event. Booker T, the former WWE star on the latest edition of the Hall of Fame podcast spoke highly of the current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and reflected on the main event of WrestleMania which will feature Reigns and Edge colliding for the Universal title.
Booker T believes Roman Reigns is ‘the guy’
While speaking about the headline of the Grandest stage of them all which is one of the most highly anticipated matches, the Hall of Famer particularly spoke about The Tribal Chief.
He said:
“Roman’s a beast, man. Roman has proved that he is truly the guy I really feel that way, not just because he said it but because the guy a top-notch worker. He’s a top-notch entertainer. He’s a top-notch performer. He knows the playbook. You know, he knows what Shakespeare is all about. You go out there and make it work, and that’s why everybody right now — Come on, man, all eyes on Roman just two years ago, everybody had no love for this guy. So obviously, he knows what he’s doing. Obviously, he knew what he was doing back then. But, you know, maybe people wanted something, you know before you know they was ready to actually give it to him. But right now, Roman is truly the guy, and I’m looking forward to it.”
While many fans have already began the speculation about the winner at the event, the former six time world champion has his pick and it was revealed to be Edge, who earned his opportunity at the title after winning the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
We have to keep our eyes set on the WrestleMania and it is to be seen who walks out of the pay-per-view with the Universal Championship around their waist.
