WWE Top Diva Rejects AEW Contract Offer

WWE Hall of Famer Lita has been one of the top stars in the company and revolutionized women’s wrestling. She had worked in WWE from 1999 till 2006. Meanwhile, WOW Women of Wrestling began airing during the 2000-2001 television season. It its a women-centric pro wrestling promotion that focuses on the sports and entertainment aspect of pro wrestling. They’ll be back for another season. It turns out that she has turned down their offer.

Lita reportedly turned down the offer

Sean Ross Sapp reported from behind Fightful’s paywall that the promotion made overtures to a WWE Hall of Famer prior to their return to WWE. According to the report, WOW wanted Lita to get on board with the promotion. She wasn’t interested.

WOW Women of Wrestling at least made an overture to Lita prior to their public announcement that they’d be returning to TV. We were told that things didn’t get very far at all, as Lita made it clear that she had no interest in working with WOW Women of Wrestling, and specifically David McClane.

One WOW source indicated that Lita made her feelings about McClane very obvious, and quickly rejected the overture. WOW would quickly pivot from their original plan, which was to contact a lot of women’s wrestlers with global television exposure. Since then, they’d relied on building the brand around Tessa Blanchard, who was later ousted.

We will now have to see if Lita decides to make up her mind regarding the offer.

Do you think she will accept the offer eventually? Let us know in the comments section below.
