Vince McMahon recently announced his retirement from his roles as Chairman and CEO of WWE. It was also noted that he was also done with his work on creative. Some reports have emerged regarding his backstage performance as well. It was revealed that Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan will serve as Co-CEOs of WWE, while Triple H is EVP of Talent Relations and Head of Creative. It turns out Vince has forfeited a portion of his WWE stock following his retirement.
Vince McMahon reportedly forfeited a share
According to a new SEC Filing on the promotion’s official corporate website, McMahon has disposed of 38,519 shares of WWE stock at $0. The filing states that the disposed stock “consists of a portion of unvested stock units previously reported in Table I which were forfeited by Mr. McMahon in connection with his retirement from the Company effective July 22, 2022″.
Vince still owns 69,157 shares of WWE stock, which “excludes 100 shares of Class A Common Stock owned individually by Mr. McMahon’s wife, Linda McMahon.”Â
Vince McMahon recently got involved in a fresh controversy. The latest Wall Street Journal story on Vince alleged that he paid at least 4 women over 16 years to cover up sexual misconduct. After the report about additional non-disclosure agreements that were signed to keep women quiet, many are wondering if more people will come out with accusations. Vince reportedly reacted to the allegations. It does not appear any more women signed NDAs. There could be others who didn’t want to burn bridges with WWE who decided against seeking a settlement.
It remains to be seen if any will speak out. It turns out Vince is no selling the matter. While many might think this has affected sponsors, that is not the case. It has also come to light that Vince might not be under too much pressure. The latest Wall Street Journal story on Vince doesn’t appear to have much of an effect on WWE business and McMahon seems to be not bothered by anything. It also seems that Vince does not have pressure on him.
WWE is set to hold SummerSlam Premium Live Event this Saturday, July 30. The card is stacked with some huge matches and fans are waiting to witness what Triple H has in store. This marks his first major event in the creative role.
