The former WWE star René Duprée recently revealed an insulting incident which he experienced during his time in WWE. Rene Dupree competed for WWE from 2003 until 2007 and is probably best remembered for his run in Francophile tag-team La Resistance. While part of that team Dupree became – at the time – the youngest star to ever hold WWE gold when he won the World Tag Team Championship at the age of 19.
He recently divulged that once his clothes and shoes were damaged on an overseas tour. In the past, current two-time GHC Tag Team Champion René Duprée has shared the story of when his personal belongings were put into a shower during an overseas tour.
René Duprée recalls the gross incident
Duprée said talents went so far as urinating and defecating on said items. He recently reflected on that disgusting incident again during the latest episode of his Café De René podcast. Duprée said the shoes he lost were $500 and once he discovered those items, he claims he was told by a ‘high up official’ in WWE to not ‘wear n-word shoes’.
Well let me tell you a story about that. Those shoes that I had [that were thrown in the shower] were $500 Belvederes, and I was told by a high up official — not gonna name names but, he said, ‘Don’t wear n-word shoes.’ There’s no racism in that place? The f*ck out of here.
Duprée had decided to part ways with WWE back in 2007. He recently made his return to Pro Wrestling NOAH and became a two-time GHC Tag Champion with El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.
This is not the only time he spoke about the matter. Previously, speaking on That 90’s Wrestling podcast, Dupree had discussed the incident and claimed how WWE legend The Undertaker played a starring role in the forgettable backstage antic.
Dupree explained:
“They took my $500 shoes and $1000 suit and ruined it in the shower because I didn’t go out drinking at a bar the night before because nobody invited me. That’s just materialistic sh*t you can replace that, that doesn’t bother me. What really bothered me is when in Italy the next night they took my French flag – my heritage – they shoved it in a toilet and p*ssed and sh*t all over it. I don’t know what bullsh*t world you live in but in my world that’s called racial discrimination. That was really hurtful.”
“What I did do was I went to Arn Anderson who was the agent and I asked him – Arn’s advice to me was ‘Don’t sell it.’ I was like ok. The next person I went to was The Undertaker and I said ‘What do you do when someone does this to you?’ And he goes ‘Well you find out who does it.’ He ordered them to do that because I didn’t go out drinking with him and the guys at a bar.”
