WWE TV schedule shuffled around ahead of SummerSlam weekend

Due to Vince McMahon blowing up the script for the 8/7 episode of Friday Night Smackdown, the decision was made not to go ahead with the 8/14 taping of the weekly blue brand show as was originally scheduled.

As a result, the new plan is to tape the show on 8/13 along with the 8/17 edition of Monday Night Raw, which was moved ahead and initially planned to be taped a few hours before it aired on that Monday evening as the “go-home” red brand show for the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view that weekend on Sunday, 8/23.

If this is how things play out, that would obviously leave Friday Night Smackown for 8/21 in limbo, as it was scheduled to be taped on 8/17 with Monday Night Raw.

As far as the black-and-gold brand is concerned, things are being shifted around there as well.

The plan for NXT is to tape the 8/19 “go-home” episode of the weekly show on the USA Network on Wednesday, 8/12, the same day as the second-to-last black-and-gold brand show before the milestone NXT TakeOver XXX live WWE Network special on Saturday, 8/22 as part of WWE SummerSlam Weekend.

We will keep you posted as any additional changes to the upcoming WWE television taping schedule are made.
