WWE has sown the seeds for a return of WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38. This week on Monday Night RAW, Kevin Owens after taking multiple shots to Texas, finally called out the native star, Steve Austin who is yet to respond to the call out. It has been noted that if Austin is to return, it will be for a KO Show.  He was slated to make a return to the squared circle. Previously it was reported that the veteran star could be possibly having a match against KO at the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All.

‘The Texas Rattlesnake was forced to retire from in-ring competition due to a serious neck injury and multiple knee injuries. However, he has been making sporadic appearances in WWE and hit Stunners to multiple stars over the years.

Steve Austin might not have a match at WrestleMania 38

Austin has not been featured in a match in 19 years. Austin’s close friend and AEW commentator Jim Ross stated that the WWE Hall of Famer is done as an in-ring performer. Ringside News reported that:

“It’s right now just the KO Show but Vince is trying to get [Austin] to do more.”

It was noted that a tenured member of the creative team said that:

“It’s a negotiation in terms of creative, money, legacy, and Austin’s ability to deliver what the audience would expect of him.”

It is understood that as per the current plan, Austin is unlikely to work a match at the marquee event. The event will take place on Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3 at AT& T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
