WWE have been affected very badly by the pandemic just like any other entertainment entity. Several talents have been tested positive for the virus and it resulted in numerous shows being postponed as well. As reported earlier, several WWE stars recently tested positive for the virus. To add to that, the condition worsened as more wrestlers and members of staff tested positive for the virus.
WWE has already started their Holiday Tour and several top talents were pulled from the events. The likes of Seth Rollins had tested positive for the virus as well. Roman Reigns also missed out on the events so that he could avoid the risk of the virus.
WWE is trying to protect the talents
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is currently holding back talents from touring as a measure to protect them from getting the virus ahead of the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view.
The deal is that all the people who were gone from the Sunday house shows, in theory they were hoping they would all be back for Day 1. If someone tests positive — well, they’re not testing anymore — but, if someone gets sick then they’re not gonna come. So, if somebody gets sick, you know they won’t be on the show. But, I don’t know, basically what I was told on Monday or Sunday, Sunday night actually, is that there are people who are being held off this week’s touring who are the main eventers because they want to use them eventually on the pay-per-view, because they do not want Lesnar, Heyman, Roman Reigns for example they want them at Day 1, for example.”
WWE has already changed up their virus policies when it comes to quarantines, so it is very likely they will be able to make it in time for the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view. We will have to see how WWE deals with the situation and looks after the safety of the talents.
