WWE Writer Mocks AEW Dynamite Ratings Drop

Former WWE writer and WCW World Champion Vince Russo has mocked Tony Khan and AEW Dynamite after the show’s ratings drop last night. A rumored TV merger could bring WWE and AEW together in 2021.

AEW was 21st in the key 18-49 demo (.29) with 741,000 viewers, while NXT was 62nd in the demo (.12) with 558,000 viewers. Last week, AEW was 3rd in demo (.32) with 844,000 viewers.

Russo first tweeted, “If this were 20 years ago and I was saying even 1/10th of the things @TonyKhan says, the Marks would be running me out of the village with burning torches.”

A fan named Eddie told Russo, “He seems like a good guy tho, man,i dunno we should go in take over creative.”

Russo agreed that Khan seemed like a good man, despite their difference of opinion when it comes to wrestling, “Seems like a GREAT guy. Just says many, many silly things. IMO.”

“In interview THIS WEEK, @TonyKhan said how @AEW ratings were going ‘up’. AEW RATINGS 2019-903K Average Weekly Viewers. AEW RATINGS 2020-810K Average Weekly Viewers. AEW RATINGS 2021-766K Average Weekly Viewers. Check out new show coming 2 http://Patreon.com/RussoTWC ‘Better Call Kahn.'”

AEW Dynamite last night was headlined by Kenny Omega and KENTA defeating Jon Moxley and Lance Archer in a Lights Out match, following up on NJPW joining the interpromotional storyline also featuring Impact Wrestling last week.
