The Revival defended their RAW Tag Team Title against Aleister Black and Ricochet on this week’s RAW. Black and Ricochet already have a huge match scheduled for NXT TakeOver: New York where they will challenge The War Raiders for the NXT Tag Team Titles. However, they had a chance to capture the RAW Tag Team Titles on their way to TakeOver.
The Revival managed to retain their titles via count out. While not the ideal way of winning, they are still the champions in the end.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that this ending was made the way it was in order to write Ricochet and Aleister Black out of the RAW Tag Team Title picture. This was certainly an odd way of doing it, but it isn’t anything unexpected from WWE.
As for The Revival, they might be facing Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder for the RAW Tag Team Titles, which has been hinted.
We will have to wait until Wrestlemania weekend to see what becomes of the NXT Tag Titles and the RAW Tag Titles.
