Sasha Banks might have gotten her hands on the RAW Women’s Title despite never really beating Asuka, the Empress of Tomorrow is still the rightful owner of the Championship. The two women will settle their feud next week on RAW in a rematch from Extreme Rules.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Asuka’s future in the WWE and who she will face at SummerSlam. According to Meltzer, the original plan was for Kairi Sane to be injured by a person at RAW and then that person would enter the RAW Women’s Title picture against Asuka.

Meltzer revealed that Natalya was slated for this role. Unfortunately, these plans were canceled because Natalya has been taking time off from WWE to be with her husband TJ Wilson who had been ill for some time.

The report reveals that Shayna Baszler has been brought in as a back-up for Natalya and therefore, she could be facing Asuka at Summerslam.
