The 2020 relaunch of XFL was something that Vince McMahon had high expectations for. However, it did not go as expected. Following its debut across multiple networks, ratings started to decrease. The final nail in the coffin was the COVID-19 outbreak.
XFL cancelled the remainder of their season and allowed the players to accept offers from the NFL and Canadian Football League. Now it seems it has shut down for good.

ESPN noted that XFL has no plans of starting again. The COVID-19 outbreak certainly has caused a huge loss for many organizations. We can hope the situation will be contained eventually.
