XFL in negotiations with ESPN and FOX for 2020 season

Last year, it was revealed that Vince McMahon was reviving the XFL. After nineteen years, the league would make its return. On January 25th, 2018, Alpha Entertainment, an entity created and funded by McMahon via selling $100 million worth of WWE stock, officially announced the return of the league, which would begin in February 2020.

Now, it seems we may have an idea of where it will be broadcast. The Sports Business Journal revealed this afternoon that the XFL is currently negotiating with both ESPN and FOX. According to their report, XFL games could end up on ABC should ESPN win the rights. However, with FOX already heavily invested in the WWE and its SmackDown brand, it’s possible they end up with McMahon’s latest venture.

According to the SBJ, we could find out where the revived American Football League will call home as early as next week.
