Zelina Vega and AJ Lee connect over ‘Fighting with My Family’ biopic

In the upcoming Paige biopic ‘Fighting with My Family’ AJ Lee is played by current WWE Women’s star Zelina Vega. Now that the movie has premiered at 2019 Sundance Film Festival, Vega is understandably anxious about how her portrayal of Lee has come across given she is playing the role of someone most pro wrestling fans are familiar with.

Countdown to the release of #FightingWithMyFamily ..I felt so honored that @therock trusted me enough to not only play his Divas Champ but to also help @florencepugh learn. She killed it!!! Everyone involved brought the best out of each other. The performance in the movie is based on the iconic moment where @realpaigewwe won the Divas Championship from @theajmendez.. but I had to create a longer version. I went to the @WWE performance center and worked with @santanagarrett until I felt it was a perfect fit for the film. DJ then came and added all of the fine tuning and flavor only he could give then BOOM! Again, can not wait for you guys to see this film! #honored 🙏🏽
