Zelina Vega released by WWE

Zelina Vega recently became a singles star after she stopped being Andrade’s manager. She challenged Asuka for the RAW Women’s Title but was unsuccessful in winning the title.

Now it seems she has been released by the company. WWE officially announced on social media that they have let go of Vega by releasing a short statement.

WWE has come to terms on the release of Zelina Vega. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

Several wrestlers backstage were distraught at her being released by the company.

According to a report by PW Insider, Zelina Vega was released owing to the company’s ban on third party sites. She did not pay heed to WWE’s rules and even opened an OnlyFans account following the initial ban. She was previously upset over not being able to use Twitch due to WWE’s ban.

She has a 90-day no-compete clause as is the case with the release of WWE Superstars, so she will not be appearing for any other company until February 2021.

Vega was informed late this afternoon that she was being released before tonight’s Smackdown taping.  As we noted earlier, she would be under the traditional 90 day non-compete window, which would keep her from working televised promotions through mid-February 2021.

We will have to see where Vega will sign with next.
