Former President Donald Trump recently ridiculed President Joe Biden for not wanting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to participate in the upcoming presidential debates. In the very same social media post, Trump argued against RFK Jr. participating in the debates via Mediaite.
It has been noted that in an absolute journey of a Truth Social post, Thursday morning, Trump took shots at Biden for requesting one-on-one debates excluding RFK Jr. from the proceedings.
“Crooked Joe Biden does not want RFK Jr. in the debates because Junior’ is far left him (sic) and they would be debating over the same territory, like ridiculous Open Borders and the Green New Scam, both of which are killing our Country,” Trump wrote. “He’s also sharper and far more intelligent than Joe, all making for a bad combination of ingredients.”
Then again, the former President argued against RFK Jr. being allowed to join the June 27 and Sept. 10 events.
“I don’t care if Junios’ (sic) joins the Debate, but right now his polling numbers are very low, he is not properly qualified in the States, and he seems to be on a downward path,” Trump wrote. “Junior’ needs more than his name to get on the ‘stage!’”
As per the criteria set forth by CNN, RFK Jr. must reach the 15 percent threshold in four major national polls to qualify. (He is currently pulling in 12 percent, according to Real Clear Politics, which averages all recent major polls.)
RFK would also have to ensure ballot access in enough states to earn 270 electoral votes. As of now, he is only on the ballot in five states but his campaign claims they have enough signatures to qualify for several more.
