Rumer Willis provided a hopeful update on her father, Bruce Willis, who has been facing health challenges after being diagnosed with dementia in February 2023. During an interview with Us Weekly and other reporters at the Beverly Hills Film Festival on May 1, where she was promoting her film “My Divorce Party,” Rumer shared that her father is “Good. Really good, yeah.”
Bruce Willis’ health journey began in March 2022 when his family announced his diagnosis with aphasia, leading him to retire from acting. Since then, Rumer and her family have shared various photos and videos of Bruce, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and giving fans insight into his life.
Rumer noted that this openness has highlighted just how “beloved” her dad is, adding that the family’s willingness to share their experience is a way to offer comfort and hope to others who are dealing with similar situations. “If sharing our experience, strength, hope, and whatever comes forward as a family, if that can bring any sort of hope or comfort to someone else who’s experiencing that, then to me that’s everything,” she explained.
Bruce Willis’ extended family has played a significant role in supporting him throughout this journey. Bruce and his ex-wife Demi Moore share three daughters: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. Bruce’s current wife, Emma Heming Willis, and their daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, are also part of the family’s support network. The blended family often comes together to support Bruce, a tradition that’s especially meaningful now that Rumer has started her own family with the recent birth of her daughter, Louetta, in April 2023.
