Lifetime will premiere a new documentary series titled “The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson,” which explores the life and tragic death of O.J. Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, who was murdered in 1994. The series will be released in four parts with previously unseen archival footage and features interviews with approximately 50 people connected to the case. The first two parts will air on June 1 and 2 at 8 p.m.
The series is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the murders of Brown and her friend, Ron Goldman, who were killed on June 12, 1994, in Brentwood, California. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the timing of the documentary’s release is unrelated to O.J. Simpson’s death on April 10 from cancer at the age of 76. The show has been in production for over a year, focusing on Nicole Brown Simpson’s life and the devastating events that led to her murder.
The trailer for the series features voiceovers from Brown’s family, including her three sisters, Denise, Dominique, and Tanya. Denise Brown emotionally describes her bond with Nicole, saying, “She was my best friend. And the one thing I could not protect her from was the monster she was married to.” Nicole Brown Simpson was 35 years old at the time of her death, while Ron Goldman was 25.
O.J. Simpson’s trial, known as “The Trial of the Century,” lasted eight months, with Simpson ultimately acquitted of the murders in 1995. However, in 1997, following a civil lawsuit filed by Goldman’s father, Simpson was found liable for the two deaths.
The documentary aims to shed new light on Nicole Brown Simpson’s life, with her family providing personal insights into their sister’s story. The series explores the emotional impact of the murders and the enduring quest for justice. Denise Brown, along with her siblings, seeks to vindicate their sister, expressing a determination to ensure her story is told. In the trailer, one sister says, “I think it’s important that people get to know my sister. Our sister.” Another family member warns, “We are here to vindicate her. Don’t get in our way.”
