Donald Trump may be the next speaker of the house in the United States. Yes, you read that right. The grapevine currently suggests that Donald Trump has been contacted to be the interim speaker, and he seems to be ok with it.
This comes in the wake of the situation that Kevin McCarthy has been ousted. Speaking on the matter on his show Hannity on Fox News, host Sean Hannity said that he has heard news about Trump being approached for the position, and he’s open to it.
Sources telling me at this hour some House Republicans have been in contact with and has started an effort to draft former President Donald Trump to be the next speaker, and I have been told that President Trump might be open to helping the Republican Party, at least in the short term, if necessary.
According to Mediaite, It was during the show that Hannity interacted with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), and stated that he has confirmed news as of that moment that Trump would be ready to be the interim speaker.
I’ve now heard from a number of people. I know for a fact Donald Trump has been contacted about possibly him being an interim speaker. Is that a reality?
Jordan didn’t comment for or against the news, but said that he would like to see Donald Trump as the next president of the United States. He was clear about what he expects from the former President of the United States.
I don’t know. He’d be great, but actually, I want Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States. If he wants to be speaker, great, but I want him to be president of the United States. That’s where we need him, is at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, but if he wants to be speaker then that’s fine too.
Jim Jordan expressed his views on Kevin McCarthy getting ousted, and said that he and Kevin came along well. Jim stated that this was unfair to Kevin, and he deserved better in this situation.
I thought it was unfair to Kevin. Kevin, I think, has done a fine job and he and I came in together. He’s a good man, um, and he didn’t deserve this, in my judgment.
Jordan left the possibility of him running for the speaker position to the conference. These are just rumours at this juncture and one would have to see if these come to reality. No one can affirm if these have been spread to distract people from the ongoing trial against the former President.
