- Xplosion matches taped after Thursday’s Impact Wrestling tapings were Wes Brisco & Garett Bischoff vs. Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez plus Eric Young vs. Robbie E.

- TNA President Dixie Carter tweeted about Kurt Angle going to rehab:

“The TNA Family is very supportive of the steps @RealKurtAngle is taking in his recovery. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.”

- Likely because of low sales from the last One Night Only pay-per-view event, DirecTV is not airing the “TNA 10 Reunion” pay-per-view that premiered last night.

It doesnt necessarily work like that. Look at all the guys who were contracted to WCW who didnt come over when WWE purchased the company. A contract with the original company does not mean an automatic carry over. If that was the case we would not have waited so long to see Goldberg and Mysterio finally sign, and we would have seen Sting in a WWE ring.

And anyway, the whole stupid name thing isnt always a given anyway, I mean, what stupid name did Vince give to CM Punk, for example. Some do, some dont.

I really dont think Vince is that interested in Joe or Ares as any negotiations they have had in the past have not exactly been WWE fighting to get them.

The only benefit to WWE in buying TNA would potentially be video rights. It would just give them another bunch of footage to use on any future DVDs.

All that said, I dont see Vince wanting to buy them anyway, and despite the financial issues, I dont see TNA being for sale in the near future.

Vince normally likes buying “dead” promotions for a few reasons. He gets contracts and gimmicks of guys he can bring in right away, normally to a hot crowd pop because the performer is already known. This is much better than changing someones name unless the name-change is good.

Imagine if Austin Ares went to WWE – he would be named something stupid and job a few weeks. Now, imagine they bring him in as Austin Ares. See the difference? Getting guys like Ares, Joe, and others would normally be the main cause. Then of course, he can do an invasion angle, and add everything from TNA to the official cannon. Just like with Smokey Mountain, AWA, USWA, WCW and ECW.

We also all know Vince doesn’t think competition or choice matters. As far as Vince is concerned, he gave you another choice: NXT.

TNA was already downhill at that point, fella.

Why would he? He has nothing to gain by doing that. Far better to keep hands off and hope that TNA stays on Spike TV. That gives Wrestling fans “a choice” – and TNA makes Vince’s imperfect WWE look all the better. And as an extra added bonus, Vince can cherry-pick the TNA talent if he so chooses.

    Lower than ever ratings.

    PPV’s dropped for “Low Sales”.

    Arena’s half empty.

Will Vince even want to stain himself by buying TNA?

I think Double J did a good to put the company on the map, and when Dixie took him out and bring HH and Eric, it when downhill.

Don’t forget to add King Mo to that list…

Signing Tito Ortiz and Rampage Jackson is symptomatic of the poor business sense TNA oozes daily. My guess is that they signed with TNA to promote their upcoming fight. And they’ll be gone after their Nov. 2nd fight.

Its not even the old overpriced talent thats the real problem, its the fact they go and get rid of actual wrestlers and replace them with two MMA guys with no actual wrestling experience.

“The TNA Family is very supportive of the steps
@RealKurtAngle is taking in his recovery. Please keep him in your
thoughts and prayers.” — Right up until they cut him loose.

DirecTV is not airing the “TNA 10 Reunion” pay-per-view that premiered last night. — The hemorrhaging continues. When TNA cut their “Video on Demand” service, I speculated that it was the beginning of the end. Now we have evidence that distributors are dropping their product “likely because of low sales.” In my opinion, TNA puts out a good product – but then, I liked the wrestling product that was being put out in the 80′s, and TNA is STILL putting that same product out. But “the powers that be” seem to have no clue how to run a business.

“When you keep doing what ya been doing, you tend to keep getting what ya got.” TNA has been cutting young talent in favor of old, overprice limited ability veterans – in an attempt to staunch the money bleeding. They need to cut the overpriced, limited/under/non-performing “talent” from the payroll.
