- Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been named the top grossing actor of 2013 for his roles in Fast & Furious 6, G.I. Joe Retaliation, Pain & Gain and Snitch, according to an article on Forbes.com.

Johnson’s movies grossed $1.3 million worldwide this year. Robert Downey Jr. came in second with the success of Iron Man 3.

The article is only taking into account box office grosses, not earnings. Robert Downey Jr. was the actually the highest paid actor of 2013 with $75 million, as opposed to $46 million for Johnson.

Newsflash it doesn’t matter what u said in the other comments. If that movie was the worst man I mean it mustve sucked pretty bad to gross over $50 million 2 sequals an entire group movie called the avengers was it and make everyother superhero movie up the ante in what was standard for heroism in movies yeah that movie sucked defintely was the worst ironman ever

  • JohnCena33

How about reading all the comments before you post. As stated before I have seen all his movies this year and they all are bad. And you call me the dunce?

BTW, the first Iron Man was the worst out of the three.

  • J-SMOOTH

Dude it’s a critic critics said the first ironman sucked and well look at iron now and what it did for the superhero movie genre 2 sequals already done and an avengers movie huh take that critic. U have to be the world’s largest dunce to listen to a critic critique a movie than actually seeing it for yourself. Dude they get paid to trash movies

Id agree with that but id switch Snitch with GI Joe idk why but I just didn’t enjoy it but I did like Snitch.

  • JohnCena33

I have seen all of his movies this year. GI Joe was decent, Fast and Furious was great, even Rock’s performance was great. Pain and Gain was alright but I would never watch it again but Snitch was horrible. The storyline, the acting, everything, for me it was a waste of my money.

  • millerj265

And everyone of those movies got rated higher by the user on metacritic then by the critics combined scores. Not saying that makes the moves good, but seems the ppl who paid to see his movies liked them and thought they were good enough to be worth what they paid to see them.

  • millerj265

That article was literally posted today on forbes website so im not sure how that’s old news, and im pretty sure Rock has nvr been the highest grossing actor of any yr before so again not sure how its not news, might not be exciting but its about as new as it can get.

Your confusing successful with good buddy, a tv show, a movie, a cd, anything entertainment related really can be god awful and still make millions of dollars. Look at WWE there not exactly making great tv right now, and the majority of there tv and ppv has been rated poorly over the last 4 months and yet there still making money and there still successful. So it really doesn’t matter if you like the movies or if they got low scores on metacritic there by definition successful because they made a substantial profit. Yours, mine, nor anyone’s opinions factor into or matter in terms of the success his movies had, were they all winners, no, but they all made money and a lot of it and in doing so they are indisputably successful, maybe not good but successful.

    “4 very successful movies”
Sure they were, because according to metacritic, his movies were all bad.

    Fast and Furious 6 – 61%
    Snitch – 51%
    Pain and Gain – 45%
    Gi Joe Retaliation – 41%

Although they may have made a lot of money, three out of the four were to me bad. All of these movies had mixed reviews and according to metacritic were average. The only good one was Fast and Furious 6, the only reason is becuase that is an already established movie franchise. He was a better actor during the attitude era than he is in his movie career.

How petty do you look by trying to make it seem as if the failed somehow because it took him four movies to beat out Downey. Yeah what a failure he is only making 46 million bucks, god what a loser he is being sought out by studios to be in there movies because they know anything he’s in makes money, man he sucks at life. And what’s more sad is the fact that Rock was in 4 very successful movies and still made less then Downey for being in one movie, so rock and almost every other actor on that list worked harder then Downey and yet because Downey knows Iron man cant exist without him he bends them over a barrel and gets more money for one movie then the actors on the list who made multiple movies this yr.

This is really not new the Rock been making 1.3 billion gross in movies for many years now. This was talk about when the Miz and The Rock were doing a shoot interview head to head. You know it make me wonder with all the story being written on the internet do any of these dirt sheet people really watch the show or are they just putting just anything together just to get a reaction.

  • JohnCena33

Ha, it took him four movies to do it, Downey did it in one, even then, three of Rock’s four movies were bad, the only that was good was Fast and Furious 6.
