- Eric Bischoff officially welcomed Dave Lagana to TNA on his Facebook and Twitter accounts last night. Bischoff wrote:

“Welcome David Lagana! Had the opportunity to work with David in WWE and learned to respect his knowledge of story structure and detail.”

As noted before, Vince Russo and TNA have parted ways. While first word was that Lagana was stepping up into a backstage producer role, Bischoff’s welcome suggests Lagana may have a creative team role after all.

hey jason, ive got an idea, you talk about how work for tna(id never openly admit it if it were me), how about you prove it. tna hasnt been good for probably at least 2-3 years.

  • Jason

Yeah, me saying TNA is at it’s best or at the very least a good program is so wrong even though guys like Orton, Cena, Foley, Rock, Stone Cold all say that they like TNA and watch it all the time. When a guy like the Rock says TNA has there act together and puts over Bobby Roode like a million dollars I tend to think we are doing things right. Have fun watching your kids program that will be on the cartoon network by 2015 the way things are going. Question how can a worker in this business for over 14 years be a mark? You are the mark not me… lol

TNA at present isn’t an easy viewing experience to be honest, TNA’s best days was 2006-January 2010 and its hard to figure out why that is.

Jason. I don’t know you but I’m pretty sure if I did I’d hate you

  • Derihnsnsh

    @Jason

Saying TNA is at it’s best right now proves you’re a brainless mark.

  • Jason

Venom TNA is not that bad, you are talking like TNA is 2010/2005 like bad when it’s at it’s best at the moment, Give it a chance.

  • venom

When I go back to working mornings, i might watch TNA again, but I have to be intoxicated for the show to be more tolerable.

  • Jason

Adam you are so wrong on so many levels

  • Adam

wow, someone sure likes to ride bischoffs d*ck. he must have to say positive things about him online in order for e.b. to spank him at night. bischoff and hogan are the main reason that TNA sucks. Before they came along, it wasnt great by any means, but it was at least tolerable. they have some good talent, they just dont utilize them properly, but then again, WWE doesnt properly utilize thier wrestlers that actually wrestle either. I watch Impact when I go to bed, and thats because it works better than any sleeping medicine to put me to sleep. Im not saying WWE is great, because lets face it, its not, but I hasnt gone down so far that its down on the same level as TNA

In 1999 when Goldberg resigned Bischoff was not the one that gave him that contract upgrade. Read Ted Turners book, he backs everything that Bischoff said in his own book CCC.

That was the only way Nash and Hall would jump over and without them the NWO and Hogan’s heel turn would never have worked. WCW would have never beat WWE for 84 weeks in a row either as a result. McMahon did the same thing for fucking Gail Kim of all people just to get her to screw TNA. Paul Boush one of the best wrestling promoters of all time via Houston wrestling did the same thing to keep the Million Dollar Man away from Vince McMahon in 1982. Goldberg sitting at home in 2001 had nothing to do with Bischoff, hell the contract had nothing to do with Bischoff. I swear people just drink the Bischoff hate juice.

  • b c Mitchell

You don’t think giving Hall and Nash guaranteed money was a bad idea? They got paid whether they showed up or not. What about Goldberg who admitted he sat at home collecting his check while the company died and why? Because, and I paraphrase his quote, why risk getting hurt when I can sit at home and still get paid

  • Jason

Bad contracts by Bischoff my ass

  • wf3458

You guys still don’t get it. It wasn’t Vince Russo, nor Hogan or Bischoff. The person/corporation who ended it was Ted Turner and Time Warner. Ted sold it and TW didn’t want wrestling in the lineup.

So enough of the blame on Russo,Hogan, and Bischoff because they didn’t kill it.

If Dave Lagana is so great, how comes the writing in ROH was so shit while he was there, and people did nothing but moan about WWE while he was there as well?
A writer is only as good (or bad in Russos case) as the company would allow him to be. Russo for instance, wasnt that bad when he worked with WWF, but once given free reign in WCW he went to hell in a handbasket.

Quite frankly, if Lagana produces anything like what he has produced for WWE and ROH, TNA will be no better off than it is now. It will still be WWE lite.
They need to get back the creative team from their early years, not keep grabbing half arsed WWE & WCW guys.

  • b c Mitchell

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Russo in WWE before? That’s rhetorical I know he was. He was at his creative best at that time hence why WCW went pay him a shit ton to go there. He’s not a bad writer he just needs someone like Vince McMahon to reign him in and keep his ideas focused. It isn’t like Russo killed WCW single-handedly either. Bad contracts by Bischoff, aging stars like Hogan, Flair, and Sting, refusal to push new guys on a consistent basis, and loss of faith and interest from their parent company were the real reasons for the fall of TNA…. I mean WCW. You can see how I get them confused

  • Jason

Maybe Vince Russo will go back to WWE and do to them what he did to WCW. Justice at it’s best

  • Jason

Yep Dave is in TNA. Damn we have the best writers in the business by far…
