- Chris Jericho recently spoke to SunSport in the UK. Here are some highlights:

Shawn Michaels being the greatest ever:
“The best way to put it is that Shawn IS the Hall of Fame. There’s nobody that has ever been in the business that deserves to be in the Hall of Fame more than Shawn Michaels. That includes Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Steve Austin or anybody else. Shawn is the epitome of what the Hall of Fame is because to me he is the best performer of all time. He is not even close to anybody else.

You can debate it with me until the cows come home — you can say all you want. You can give me all the facts and figures, it’s not going to change my mind. I’m so excited that he is in the Hall of Fame, but it’s essential that he be in there. If he wasn’t it would be a waste of time.”

Stories in his new book and writing about topics such as Chris Benoit:
“I talked to Vince about it and Triple H too. I had a lot of confrontations with him when I first started, but it worked out.

“I think it was one of the reasons why WWE in the early 2000s was so exciting because there were a lot of guys rubbing each other up the wrong way personally, which led to them being better professionally.

I said I was telling stories the way I remember them and it wasn’t always rosy. Both of them were like, ‘Well, that’s life. Good for you. Go for it’. I wanted to make sure they each knew.

There were a lot of confrontations with Vince and a lot of harsh words spoken. But it was all done with love. Not to get sappy but it helped both of us understand the other better to where we have a great relationship and a lot of respect between us right now. Vince is one of my favourite people in the world.”

    the Bret situation is stupid. Bret should have just agreed to drop the title to Shawn. He was leaving the company, so he should have been respectful to the company that gave him the opportunity to hold it. Let’s face it, if Vince wouldn’t have agreed to push Bret non of us would even be taling about him today.

    @keylo

    First of all Jericho has said HBK was the greatest of all time way before he was in WWE so that argument is dumb. And yes there is no HOF without HBK. He has had the match of the year almost ever year he has wrestled and it didn’t matter the opponent. The backstage stuff is what it is. That has nothing to do with in the ring or on the mic. Vince had more to do with screwing Bret than anyone.

    BEST COMMENT ON IT IMHO

    No man who did what he did to Bret should be considered the greatest. What Jericho is saying is that a man who showed complete and utter disregard for every professional wrestler that night and went behind a performers back is a role model and benchmark for this industry can only be considered an absolutely stupid and completely disrespectful slip of the tongue. I don’t seriously believe Jericho means what hes saying. Its merely a lets stay tight with the clique to reassure my reentry into the WWE when my other activities dry up. Don’t think I don’t rate HBK, because I do, he is a very talented wrestler who has performed consistently and probably had his best matches at the end of his career, so it is testament to his ability and longevity. But the Greatest…don’t make me laugh!

    WHAT A STUPID THING TO SAY Y2TOOL, AS IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE ONES IN THERE ALREADY FROM THE 70’S ETC YOU WOULD NOT HAVE A CAREER AND TO DISMISS THEM LIKE THAT SHOW WHAT AN ARROGANT TOOL THIS MUPPET IS.
