It is noted that in June 2022, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon got into the headlines due to alleged misconduct after it emerged that he had secretly paid $3 million in hush money.
The controversy further took a turn when McMahon was hit with a sex trafficking lawsuit, prompting him to file a motion to compel arbitration. As the legal battle unfolded, Janel Grant’s lawyer has now issued a public statement on the matter.
On January 25th, Janel Grant, a former WWE staff member, filed lawsuit against WWE, John Laurinaitis, and Vince McMahon, alleging sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking incidents dating back to March 2019.
The lawsuit saw serious allegations against these prominent figures which cast a shadow over McMahon’s reputation and raised concerns about the workplace environment within WWE.
Vince McMahon has filed a motion to compel arbitration in the Grant v. WWE et al. case, where he denied Grant’s claims of sexual abuse and coercion, among other things.
Josh Pollock took to Twitter and noted a statement released by Janel Grant’s lawyer Ann Callis. Callis criticized McMahon for distorting the narrative to suit his agenda, highlighting the emotional toll on her client, who had been taking care of her parents during their final days.
