Police Report Says Kurt Angle Failed Breathalyzer Test At Time Of DUI Arrest

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle’s blood alcohol level test was above the legal limit when he was arrested on driving under the influence early Sunday morning in Virginia.

Angle’s associates claimed yesterday to TMZ that he had a 0.06 blood alcohol level, which was actually a second test at a Virginia police station following the arrest. The first test showed up as 0.091, which is above the legal limit.

Angle’s court hearing is scheduled for October 4 in Warren County General District Court.

The Northern Virginia Daily, the source of the story, has released more details on his arrest. State trooper Sgt. F.L. “Les” Tyler says he observed Angle “weaving and driving down the center line” for about half-a-mile.

“I made contact with the driver and detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage,” Scally wrote in the police report. “I asked Mr. Angle, whom I identified by his Pa. drivers license, how much he had to drink and he replied he had three beers.” He added, “Mr. Angle’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy.

Scally asked Angle to exit the vehicle and perform a series of six sobriety tests, which he failed. Angle agreed to take a preliminary breath test at the scene and his blood alcohol level was 0.091. He was placed under arrest at 2:06 a.m. and taken to the Front Royal police headquarters for the second test. Angle was released from Warren County Jail on a $2,000 bond.

Angle was charged with driving while intoxicated as a first-time offender, which is a class 1 misdemeanor in the state of Virginia. As one of the conditions of his bail, he was permitted to leave Virginia and return home to Pennsylvania until the hearing.
