The Master of the 619 has been the topic of many rumors surrounding WrestleMania. First, he was a possible opponent for John Cena should The Undertaker not be able to compete. However, since Braun Strowman won the battle royal and earned a right to challenge for the WWE Raw Tag Team Titles, it’s been speculated that Rey Mysterio could be the big man’s partner.
Mysterio has done his best to squash these rumors, however. At NJPW’s Strong Style Evolved, he made an appearance, stating that, while he is injured, he doesn’t plan on going anywhere until he faces Jushin Thunder Liger in an NJPW ring. Will Ospreay also challenged Mysterio to a match after defeating Liger at that same event.
However, multiple reports have come out that Rey Mysterio is, not only in New Orleans for WrestleMania week, but is also staying at the hotel that WWE superstars are currently occupying. The news was broken by WrestleVotes on Twitter.
Worth noting Rey Mysterio was spotted at the WWE company hotel last night, looking healthy I am told. No idea if this parlays into an appearance tonight at WrestleMania.
