– At tonight’s WWE SmackDown tapings in Columbus, Ohio, Wade Barrett of The Corre defeated Kofi Kingston to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.
The title change came when Kofi was going for Trouble in Paradise but The Corre distracted the referee. Kofi hit Heath Slater instead, allowing Barrett to hit Wasteland for the win. Kofi took a 450 Splash from Justin Gabriel after the match.
