Okay with the first of WWE s 4 pay per views in a 2 month span coming this Sunday, it’s time for some Night Of Champion predictions, but you already knew that.( I couldn’t help myself) Now Nik I realize you have a tendency towards predictions as well but since no topic is overwhelming me at the moment, a little friendly competition it is.
Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler
The stipulation in this one is that if Dolph gets counted out or DQed then he loses the title. I see this feud coming to an end here and I don’t see Kofi coming out on top. If he doesn’t win it’ll be interesting to see where both men go from here Kofi in particular and hope he isn’t relegated to permanent mid card.
Prediction: Dolph retains
Women Unification Match
This match is interesting in the sense that only half the match is set. McCool makes the most sense for an opponent seeing as she is the bigger of the two stars (no not that way, I know Layla is stacked) I could see something stupid happening where one of them starts the match and the other takes over for whatever reason. It will help the feud go on if LayCool wins, while logic doesn’t always dictate outcome, I ll go with it in this case.
Prediction: Laycool is your Undisputed Champion (They and Jericho can brag together)
Big Show vs. CM Punk
If someone knows why this match is on the card then please let me in on the secret. The special attraction as they are calling it and I think they mean in a short bus kind of way. In any case, heres hoping Punk reestablishes himself in his rightful place as one of the top heels in the company.
Prediction: CM Punk and New…oh thats right this isn’t for a title on Night Of Chmapions
Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz
This is one of the more intriguing matches of the evening, not as much for the match itself, which I believe will be very good but more so to see exactly where Daniel Bryan is in the opinion of the higher ups. They at least had enough sense to bring him back and put him in a high end feud. I think this may be the very highest level feud we ever see Daniel at unfortunately, so for all you fans of his enjoy this one while you can. Although I do think his good run will continue.
Prediction: Daniel Bryan New US Champ
Tag Team Titles
I almost forgot about this one and apparently so did creative, as there has been almost no sign of the Heart Dynasty and even less of a potential opponent. I hesitate to even get into how dumb it was to simply throw them right into a feud with the Usos, which if done well could have..(I cant even get into it) In any case, if not the Usos then it would one of those horrible makeshift tag teams we see every so often. So I’ ll go with the Usos for the opponent.
Prediction: Hart Dynasty (seeing as they are currently running unopposed)
Kane vs. The Undertaker
Another very interesting match up, this is intriguing storyline wise as well as match wise as I feel both men can still put on a very good effort together. It seems likely that at some point Taker will regain the strap it is just a matter of when. I can see it happening this Sunday but I believe Hell in a Cell makes more sense. Although I have a hard time seeing Kane go over Taker cleanly in a no holds barred match if this does indeed turn out to be one.
Prediction: Kane still WHC, most likely it will be Taker
Six Pack Challenge
This is another match that has endless possibilities, the match is now an elimination match which makes it even more interesting. Jericho is back in, which I almost feel is a mistake at this point, especially if the rumors are true that he is going to be taking time off, the spot would be better suited to go to John Morrison. Jericho makes no sense for the reason just mentioned. Edge is having a major beef with the “GM” (seriously just pick someone already) so unless he plans on winning the title and taking it to Smackdown in a major twist, that rules him out. If Cena or Orton were to regain the title, I have to believe it would be on a bigger stage in a one on one match, so that brings it down to Sheamus and Wade Barrett.
I could see either one happening, Sheamus hasn’t had that major one on one feud since regaining the title and it would seem odd for him to drop it without having it with either Cena or Orton. Although they may just be biding time until Triple H returns. Wade Barrett though, much like Daniel Bryan may be at the height of his momentum and never be on a push like this again. With the Nexus angle fading by the day (and boy did creative really drop the ball with that storyline) giving Barrett the strap and seeing where he can go with that isn’t that far off of a possibility. With that said…
Prediction: Winner Wade Barrett New WWE Champion
