There is a lot going on right now in professional wrestling (and yeah maybe even in TNA as well but lets be honest, is anyone really paying any attention to them as of right now) So I thought I would share a few thoughts I had going on right now in professional wrestling, I mean WWE….
The Name Change: ok lets start right there….say it with me WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT, holy $@#T Vince are you kidding me. You are so obsessed with all this entertainment bull shit that you really feel the need to stray that far from the wrestling name as to not even mention it in your company. You do realize despite the entertainment factor that you love to promote so much, the entire backdrop for the entertainment is WRESTLING. Whats next World Wrestling…knitting contests, balloon animals, potato sack races…..you fill in the blank…..get real Vince!
Undertakers Opponent: there has been a lot of speculation about Takers next Mania opponent and if the streak will stay alive. Triple H will hopefully get his rematch at SummerSlam so we can rule him out. My initial thoughts were either Barrett, Sheamus, Jericho or Cena. Now Cena is out and Jericho seems unlikely but TG made a comment that Vince wouldn’t be opposed to ending the streak if it was for the future of the company. And while there are a few guys the win could really help, the only possible one IMO, who could really capitalize on the hype this victory would create, would be The Miz, or possibly CM Punk. Those are the only two arrogant enough to really reap the rewards of ending the streak. And right now Miz is just about over as over can get. (Alberto Del Rio …not as likely as the other two)
Daniel Bryan/John Morrison/Christian: you never can tell what will happen with these guys from week to week. Most of us fans realize exactly how much they deserve and need to be pushed for the….Entertainment Business but every now and again Vince seems to forget about them. Christian is on his way up (possibly) Bryan seems to be on his way down (unfortunately) and John Morrison is…(where do you call being second fiddle in a match to a….how would one describe that female who headlined his match at WM) I can’t bring myself to type her name in a WRESTLING column. In any case, heres hoping all three of these men continue to get the runs they deserve.
Sin Cara: not gonna say much except incredible entrance, really cool how they did it. AMAZING high cross body and absolutely looking forward to seeing him in the ring. If they are smart, Chavo will be one of his first opponents.
Michael Cole: say what you will but this guy has turned into absolute gold. I like many of you absolutely hated him to begin with but he has grown into his character so much over the past few months (even so as to apparently have a huge ego back stage) Anyway he is dynamite on the mic. I love Jim Ross and glad he is back even if it is part time but Cole still needs to be the main focus. Next year Im going streak vs. streak at WM. After standing up and applauding at the Miz entrance, “do you think he saw me?” Hilarious.
Cena vs. Rock: everyone has their opinion on this. I personally think one year is a little long to hype a match, even of this caliber. I like a lot of you was hoping we would see this match at SummerSlam, which with a Taker HHH rematch and the likes of Miz Orton and Punk, could have been one of the best cards we ve seen in SS history. But with WM being in the Rocks hometown, it makes sense. It is a smart move business wise, it s just tough to capitalize on something in 12 months, that has major heat right now. If they are smart and the match does happen at WM and not SS. Then at least they ll keep the Rock around on TV, and at least make one or two in ring appearances. Maybe even a tag match WITH Cena against the Corrrre (how many r’s) at SummerSlam.
