AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – When the final bell sounded following Saturday’s “UFC 123: Rampage vs. Machida” main event, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson raised the hand of Lyoto Machida in victory. When the two walked to the center of the cage for the official announcement, the opposite happened as Rampage was awarded the split decision win and got his hand raised.
During Saturday’s UFC 123 co-main event 21 seconds, that and the idea of fighting an old rival was all it took for BJ Penn to get his mojo back, and he did just that, knocking out Matt Hughes in their rubber match to break a two fight losing skid and send the crowd at The Palace at Auburn Hills into a frenzy.
