– We noted earlier that there were rumors at SmackDown that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar was close to signing a new deal with WWE.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that those reports are premature. As of today, the situation with Lesnar and WWE is still the same as it has been for a few weeks now. Whatever led to the backstage blow-up at RAW in Nashville a few weeks back has not been settled and nothing has changed.
WWE officials are still negotiating and hoping to get Lesnar to sign a new contract at next Monday’s RAW in Los Angeles.
